Quality

Inspection starts with the specification.

A project-specific approach to drawing review, process discussion, inspection scope, and acceptance requirements.

Drawing and Model Review

Control the Requirement Set

Align the CAD model, dimensioned drawing, revision, units, material, finish, quantity, and acceptance notes before the order is released.

Review Manufacturing Questions

Discuss geometry, tool access, datums, finishing, and other project-specific questions that may affect how requirements are achieved or checked.

Define Inspection Priorities

Identify the critical dimensions, interfaces, and relevant datums that determine fit, function, motion, sealing, or assembly.

Agree on Acceptance and Records

State requested checks, sampling expectations, approval stages, and records during quotation so their scope and availability can be confirmed.

What to define in the RFQ

Make acceptance requirements reviewable before production.

A general tolerance note cannot explain every functional interface. Apply feature-level requirements where they matter, then identify the checks or records needed for your project. Availability is confirmed during quotation.

Drawing control

  • Part number and governing revision
  • Matching CAD model and dimensioned drawing
  • Units, material, finish, and quantity

Critical characteristics

  • Datums and critical-to-function dimensions
  • Fits, threads, geometric controls, and surface requirements
  • Acceptance before or after surface treatment

Inspection request

  • Characteristics that require recorded results
  • Requested sampling or part-approval stages
  • Material, dimensional, or finish records to discuss

Inspection priorities are discussed against the controlled drawing and project requirements. List the critical features and any requested records in your RFQ so their scope and availability can be confirmed before an order is released.
