Engineering Validation

Verify critical features, interfaces, and acceptance requirements against a controlled design before the next release decision.

Engineering overview

Keep the drawing, part, and evaluation criteria traceable.

An engineering validation build should connect the manufactured part to an approved model, drawing revision, and evaluation plan. Define which characteristics determine acceptance and which records are needed before the order is released.

We will provide your quotation within 24 hours after we receive complete drawings and project requirements.

Release one controlled requirement set

The model, drawing, material, finish, quantity, and acceptance notes should describe the same revision. Superseded files make results difficult to interpret.

  • Use matching revision identifiers across the model and drawing.
  • State units, material grade, and finish specification.
  • Highlight changes from the previous evaluated build.
  • Remove or clearly mark obsolete files in the request package.
Use the CNC RFQ checklist

Define critical characteristics

Validation should concentrate on the dimensions and interfaces that determine fit, motion, sealing, alignment, or assembly. Connect each requirement to an appropriate datum or reference where needed.

  • Identify critical-to-function dimensions.
  • Mark fits, threads, geometric controls, and surface requirements.
  • State whether acceptance applies before or after finishing.
  • Provide mating-part context when it clarifies the requirement.

Applications / Manufacturing context

Each build should answer a clear engineering question.

Representative media supports the engineering discussion and does not document a specific customer order.

Agree on the inspection scope

Requested checks, sampling expectations, and records should be listed in the RFQ. Their availability and scope are confirmed for the project before the order is released.

  • List the characteristics that require recorded results.
  • State any requested material or finish documentation.
  • Describe sample approval or review steps when required.
  • Define how discrepancies will be reported and evaluated.

Close the validation decision

Compare inspection and test findings with the agreed criteria, then record whether the design is accepted, revised, or scheduled for another build.

  • Tie findings to the part number and drawing revision.
  • Separate design changes from manufacturing questions.
  • Update acceptance criteria before the next order.
  • Release repeat quantities only against the approved requirement set.
